Has he given up?

It's been so quite here. Everything that can be discussed has probably been talked about. But, I was wondering if inmate has given up and accepted he will never get out of prison. Is he out of money to hire lawyers? Have the lawyers who would work for free stopped? Who visits him? What does he think about when he realizes he'll be 80 this year, life went on without him and he'll die in prison?

Re: Has he given up?

I can answer part of your question. Mrs inmate apparently no longer has reliable transportation. I'm told she takes Amtrak to Comberland MD. She rents a room from an antique shop that is along the bus route. She only goes once a month instead of the two monthly visits permitted the inmate. That's all in information I have.

Re: Has he given up?

Hi Rhubarb and noracaroline.  I spoke with Jim Blackburn the other day and he said there is

nothing Jeffrey MacDonald can do now except wait to die. He has exhausted any and all legal avenues.

So, he is just an old man (in poor health) just sitting in his cell and feeling sorry for himself because

he is incapable of feeling remorse for the horrible crimes he committed!

Re: Has he given up?

Thanks OWC for that information.

I always think of the brilliant CID investigators and prosecutors who worked so hard over many years to put McMurderer in prison, and to keep him there.  My gratitude also to Joe McGinnis for the book Fatal Vision that told the true story of what that monster did to his family.

I hope Collette’s family and band of supporters live to see the day he leaves his cage in a pine box.

Can you share any other updates on the key people involved?

Gina
