VERDICT IS IN

I just had a phone call. The judge has denied MacDonald's motion for a compassionate release.
MacDonald has until June to file a reply motion if he chooses.

I have all the faith in these new government attorneys. They will take it as far as need be.

Re: VERDICT IS IN

"MacDonald must stay in prison for the murders in 1970 of his wife and children, U.S. District Judge Terrence Boyle said in a ruling issued on Friday. Boyle rejected MacDonald’s request for compassionate release. The compassionate release law allows some federal prisoners over age 70 to get out of prison under certain circumstances, such as if they have served at least 30 years of their sentences or there are extraordinary and compelling reasons. The compassionate release law doesn’t apply to MacDonald, Boyle said, because MacDonald was sentenced under an older sentencing law that has provisions for parole. The compassionate release law applies only to inmates whose crimes took place on or after Nov. 1, 1987, Boyle said, and who were sentenced under a newer law that replaced traditional parole with supervised release."

I just got a copy of the eight page denial. If anyone wants a copy of the EIGHT pages - PM your email address and I will email it to you.

Re: VERDICT IS IN

I like on the last page of this order where it says;

Defendant's motion to seal his exhibits which contain medical records and personally identifiable information [DE 405) is GRANTED. SO ORDERED, this 9 day of April, 2021.

Well the judge denied his release BUT sealed his medical records......LOL

Re: VERDICT IS IN

I saw Bob Stevenson recently on the AWOE Docu on Hulu. I was finally able to see this, since it is not available in Europe. You can clearly see how he suffered over the years. I hope, that after the news of the verdict, he can get some peace. He surely fought his battle.

Thanks Christina!

I posted separately, in my excitement, before I saw this thread. Sorry. Great news! Justice continues to prevail,

What next? Will he appeal this? Request a parole hearing and admit guilt in a bid for release? Give up and die? This had to be a blow for him!

Re: VERDICT IS IN

Does anyone here think Convict will request a parole, and finally admit guilt to get it? Admitting guilt and saying he’s sorry is no guarantee of parole and once the words are out of his mouth, he’s stained as an admitted murderer forever.

I will be very surprised if he admits anything, but I don’t know how desperate he is.

Anyone, besides me, believe that Mrs MacDonald just breathed a BIG sigh of relief?
