Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Red1975pacer - are you still a Mac supporter?
Or have you changed your mind?

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

I still support Mac, but as the situation has progressed I see it as in limbo.    Mac, guilty or innocent, isn’t going anywhere soon.

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Red - can you explain to me why you support him?
Do you think he killed his family?
Or do you think someone else did it?
How do you feel about the victims in this case?
How does your support for Mac affect them?
Do you think they would appreciate it?

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

I believe that the eveidence was compromised by time and or lack of disclosure for the defense to properly dissect it at trial time.     Concerning the victims, it’s awful what happened, from the kids to Mac and his wife.   Prosecutors may have been guilty of misconduct.     Hope this gives you a better understanding of my position on the case.     Now I’m not gonna post / and or preach about Macs innocence, that ship has sallied .   He’s not gonna make it out. This case has been horrible for everyone involved, including but not limited to the family of the victims and friends.

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Red - let's leave aside for now the legal issues of the trial and the investigation.
I know you said you didn't want to post or preach about Mac's innocence, but let's just talk turkey here.
Do you think he did it or not?
A yes or no answer is all that is required.
After you answer that question, we can go on to debate the legal questions.

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Don’t know if he did it.    There’s  the 9 years between the crime and Macs trial.     Who knows what could have been done to the evidence.    So with that in mind I gotta say the state failed to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.      And don’t get me going about the pressure angle that the jury was under to convict

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Come on Red. Don't talk about trial delays, or the political climate of the day.
What does your gut tell you?
Don't say you don't know. You have been thinking about this for a while.
If you had to lean one way or the other, would you say its more likely that he did it, or that he didn't do it?

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

I don’t know because I wasn’t there that night.    So with that in mind I believe there’s the benefit of the doubt.       So from that viewpoint, not guilty. This entire endeavor has been tainted since day one.   But no worries, Mac isn’t getting out

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

So Red, you don't believe in the jury system?
Or do you think only people who were at the crime scene when it happened can have an opinion?
That would severely limit the jury pool.
