Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

I believe in the broken window theory of law enforcement.   Stop the crime at the lower level.    Who knows? Maybe Blackburn would have uped his game to higher levels /if not caught

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Red - There are big differences between Blackburn and JRM.
Stealing money is wrong of course, but multiple murder is much worse. On a different level.
Another difference, Blackburn admitted his crime, showed remorse. JRM has not.
Blackburn made amends. Paid back the money.
The nature of JRM's crime almost precludes making amends. You can't unring a bell.
But admitting his crime  and showing remorse would be a big step.
If he had done that, I would be willing to discuss parole.
Red, would you like to see JRM admit what he did  and express remorse?

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Can’t see how Mac can come clean and admit what he’s being accused of at this point.    I did not just say he did it.      Accused of,     So he’s probably going to be chilling like a villain in his condo for a minute or so

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Red - don't hide behind legal terms like accused, especially after a conviction. They are no longer "accused" after conviction.
I also use legal terms when they are appropriate.
Such as presumption of innocence and burden of proof and due process etc.
I doubt if he would be chilling in a condo if he got out.
He would be stuck with his new spouse 24/7 which might make him pine for the quiet of a jail cell.
He would have no money, so it wouldn't be a swanky retirement.
And people like you who are willing to give him a pass on the murders are dwindling fast.
He would be unwelcome in polite company.
But that won't happen because his destiny is to die in prison.
And then he will have to answer to God.
His victims are with God now.

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Yes I am a church going person and as a Orthodox faith believer we probably do worship the same God.    So let’s talk about what it means to be a Christian.   We practice and preach that it doesn’t matter what hour that you revive Jesus Christ.  It could be in the first hour or the last hour.  Doesn’t really matter as long as you get there.    Mac may have seen the light and may have made amends for what he is accused of.    We are not in a position to make assumptions.    Don’t hate on another person as we are not to judge. Pray for Mac that he finds the Lord.   Now I gotta get ready for church, gotta go

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Red - I don't hate on him,  but I do hate what he did.
If he finds God, I would support that.
He should confess his sins and ask for forgiveness.
But it is not up to me to forgive him.
I would leave that up to God.
There is zero evidence that JRM has seen the light and made amends.
If you have some indication that he has admitted his crime and shown remorse, please share that with us.
I am not making assumptions, I am simply paying attention to his own words in every interview he has given.
As far as amends, are you serious Red?
How exactly could he make amends for taking four young lives?

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

Every interview that he’ given?    Last one I checked was 2005.     Please correct me if I’m wrong

You are wrong. What about the People Magazine Interview in January of 2017?

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

That was quoted discussion, not actual interview of Mac.   Now if we’re trying to decide if there’s any remorse, it would make a difference

Re: Has MacDonald finally given up?

You are nitpicking Red. It doesn't matter if it was an interview or published quotes from a discussion.
You keep talking about JRM showing remorse, but you have not provided a shred of evidence for it.
Why?
I can provide lots of times where he defiantly declared his innocence. Larry King Live, Vanity Fair, Soldier of Fortune and may more.

I have never seen him show remorse, and I have never heard a single person claim they have seen him show remorse. Including you Red. You can't even make that claim.
But you question my claim that he hasn't shown remorse.
